HC stays proceedings against Siddaramaiah
- In an alleged corruption case related to land denotification the High Court of Karnataka stayed for four weeks further proceedings against Siddaramaiah.
- The summons was issued on August 23, directing Siddaramaiah to appear before the special court.
- The case dates back to 1997, when Siddaramaiah was the deputy chief minister in JH Patel government.
- In the complaint, filed by N. Gangaraju, a Mysuru-based advocate, in 1997 Siddaramaiah was accused of denotification of 30 guntas of acquired land within three weeks.
- Later he purchased 10 acres of the denotified land and sold that property.
