Tripura CM claims law and order scene improving in state

Tripura chief minister Biplab Kumar Deb claimed in the State Assembly on Monday that law and order situation in the state is improving.
He has said that compared to 2017, the law and order situation in Tripura during 2018 was better. 
It is notable that BJP formed government in Tripura last year March.
Biplab Deb claimed that compared to 2017 crime against woman has reduced by six percent in 2018, dowry-related atrocities reduced to 12 percent, dowry-related death reduced to 45 percent, incidents of rape reduced to five percent and molestation reduced 18 percent. 
The chief minister also said that his government has given free hand to police.

He also assured that his party and party leaders will not interfere in any kind of law and order cases.
He also said, 82 cases were registered under the POCSO Act in 2019 and 84 were arrested.
“We have to combat together to reduce the crimes,” the chief minister exhorted in the Assembly.
Biplab Deb also claimed that, conviction rate is 25 percent in Tripura and it is higher than earlier government’s time.
In another written reply, the home department informed that from April 1, 2018 to July 31, 2019, 1872 unnatural deaths occurred in Tripura.
During this time crime against woman reported 809, kidnapping reported 222, murder happened 155, dowry death 31 committed and 23 housewives killed.
Besides, 346 people died due to road accidents during this period.
It may be recalled that on Friday, the CPI-M MLAs staged walkout from the Assembly on the issue of law and order situation in the State.
