KCR trying to split anti-Modi vote: Suravaram

The Communist Party of India has charged TRS president and Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao with trying to split the vote against Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led NDA government in the name of formation of Federal Front of regional parties.
CPI general secretary Suravaram Sudhakar Reddy alleged that Mr. Rao was working on behalf of Mr. Modi and had called on him on Wednesday to report to him about the deliberations he had with leaders of other parties, including chief ministers of Odisha and West Bengal. Mr. Reddy dismissed the claims by a section of TRS leaders that Mr. Rao proposed the federal front a few years ago.
“If that was the case, why did Mr. Rao support the ‘anti-people policies’ of the NDA government like demonetisation and the Goods and Services Tax that imposed severe hardships on the people,” he asked. Mr. Reddy was speaking after hoisting the party’s flag in connection with the CPI’s 93rd Formation Day.
