CPI(M) leader Saji Cherian, who won the byelection from Chengannur, was sworn in as MLA on Monday.
Soon after the Question Hour, Speaker P. Sreeramakrishnan informed the House about the swearing-in of the new member. Legislature Secretary V.K. Babu Prakash invited Mr. Cherian to take the pledge.
Members received Mr. Cherian with a huge applause. After the swearing-in, Mr. Cherian greeted leaders of the ruling and Opposition benches.
