Mevani asks people to be wary of JD(S) next move

Gurajat MLA Jignesh Mevani and actor Prakash Raj, here on Thursday, urged the public to be cautious about the next move of the JD(S).
While Mr. Raj said the people have to protest against H.D. Deve Gowda if he goes with the BJP after the election, Mr. Mevani called upon the public to make their choice based on whom the JD(S) would go with after the elections. They were addressing a seminar on ‘Save Constitution’ here on Thursday.
Mr. Mevani said he was not in favour of any political party, but would oppose the BJP for its anti-constitution stand strongly. “The party is making all efforts to divide people by raking up the issue of religion. The people of Karnataka should defeat the party in the State Assembly elections,” he said.
“The Prime Minister calls himself a chowkidar, but he was actually a chor,” said Mr. Mevani alleging that he had not fulfilled any of the promises he made in 2014.
In response to Narendra Modi’s challenge to AICC President Rahul Gandhi to speak for 15 minutes, Mr. Mevani said he would challenge Modi to speak about the status of the promise of jobs to youth, enhancement of minimum support price for agriculture produces and his programmes for the benefit of backward classes.
