Tripura MP Jitendra Choudhury Throws light on Unsatisfactory Implementation of MGNREGA in State

CPI(M) MP from Tripura Jitendra Choudhury on April 14 made an appeal to the Biplab Deb led government in Tripura to ensure the rights of the job card holders under the provisions of  MG-NREGA while stating that certain blocks in the state have not been implementing certain government schemes.
In  a press release, he stated that the entire Kokborok and Silacharri Block areas being comparatively a dry and border zone, the families belong to the BPL categories and are largely dependent on the wage work during the period under the MG-NREGA or any other government schemes. It was also stated that since the month of February, no work was provided by the blocks or any other government departments in the sub division. He also added that if this apathy continues for two to three more weeks, it may lead to a near famine like situation in hilly areas. On inquiry from the DM and collector, it was learnt that some release may take place only next week.
