India’s flagship railway project, the Vande Bharat Express, touted as the symbol of ‘Make in India’, is now under scrutiny following a report by the Commission of Railway Safety. According to the report, the front coach of the Vande Bharat train is significantly lighter than traditional locomotive engines, making it vulnerable to severe accidents in case of collisions—even with animals. With over 68 reported animal collisions in just six months, including multiple instances of engine damage, the safety concerns are escalating.
