Charanjit Singh Channi writes to PM Modi, demands to waive farmers' debt
- Punjab CM Charanjit Singh Channi wrote to PM Modi demanding to waive the debt of farmers and farm labourers.
- Channi said that his government is ready to share with the Centre a part of the cost of debt waiver.
- This came a day after the Parliament passed a Bill to repeal the farm laws.
- Channi added that these demands were raised by the farmer leaders, who met him in Chandigarh.
- He said that only one major issue that remained pending was that of farm debt.
