Mahua Moitra approaches SC, opposes Centre's ordinances to extend the tenure of ED, CBI Directors
- Lok Sabha member Mahua Moitra has approached the Supreme Court against two ordinances brought by the Centre.
- The ordinances include the extension in tenure of directors of ED and CBI for up to 3 years after the mandatory 2-year tenure.
- Moitra said that these ordinances are contrary to the recent judgment of the Supreme Court.
- She tweeted, Top court specifically said Mishra tenure cannot be extended. Yet Nov 14th ordinance used on Nov 17th to extend yet again."
- "What dirty work is Mishraji doing for his masters that makes him so indispensible? Just asking", she added.
