Former Union Minister demands to take back Padma award from Kangana Ranaut
- Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut has been in controversy after she remarked on the freedom and freedom fighters of India.
- She had said, Kangana said, "If freedom is found in begging, can it be freedom? Savarkar, Rani Laxmibai,... knew that blood will flow but also remember that Hindustani-Hindustani should not shed blood."
- The opposition has been targeting the actress over this. After Varun Gandhi, now former Union Minister Anand Sharma has shown opposition through a tweet.
- He tweeted, "Shocking and outrageous. Ms Kangana Ranaut’s statement heaped insult on the courageous freedom fighters led by Mahatma Gandhi, Nehru and Sardar Patel but also belittled the sacrifices of revolutionaries."
- Sharma added, "Hon'ble @rashtrapatibhvn should immediately take back the Padma award given to Ms Ranaut. Psychiatric evaluation should be carried out before giving such awards."
