Report- BJP spent Rs 252 crore while campaigning in states this year, 60 % spent in Bengal itself

  • In the campaign that was held in Assam, Puducherry, Tamil Nadu, West Bengal and Kerala this year, BJP spent Rs 252 crore.
  • Out of the total money, 60 percent was spent for campaigning only in the TMC-ruled state of West Bengal.
  • Of these, Rs 43.81 crore was spent for the Assam elections and Rs 4.79 crore for the Puducherry assembly elections.
  • Rs 22.97 crore was spent in Tamil Nadu, where BJP got only 2.6 percent votes and DMK won from here.
  • In Kerala, BJP spent Rs 29.24 crore. The EC has made public the details of the expenditure submitted by various parties.
