- Punjab cabinet has approved a bill to regularize the services of 36,000 employees.
- The services will fall under the Punjab Protection and Regulation of Contractual Employees Bill-2021.
- The bill was approved in a meeting chaired by the Chief Minister of Punjab, Charanjit Singh Channi.
- This is one of the big decisions made by the Punjab govt and the bill will be introduced in the assembly for enactment.
- These employees were working on contract, ad-hoc, daily wage and temporary basis in various govt departments.
