'Now it is being said that there are two FIRs?'- Supreme Court on Lakhimpur violence
- The Supreme Court raised questions regarding the investigation of the UP govt in the Lakhimpur incident.
- The bench of judges said that it is pained to say that prima facie it appears that benefit is being given to a particular accused by overlapping 2 FIRs.
- Justice Surya Kant said that now it is being said that there are two FIRs, evidence accumulated in 1 FIR will be used in another.
- CJI said that both FIRs should be investigated separately. Justice Suryakant said that one is the case of the killing of farmers, the other of journalists.
- Harish Salve said that if someone still comes forward to record his/ her statement, then that has to be done.
