Haryana cuts excise duty on fuel, but increases VAT, Surjewala calls state govt 'Lootjeevi'
- The Centre had cut excise duty on petrol by Rs 5 and on diesel by Rs 10 on November 3.
- Rates of VAT were also reduced by the state govt, which gave relief to the common people.
- Congress General Secretary Randeep Surjewala has described the Haryana government as a looter.
- He tweeted, "Watch the game of Lootjeevi Khattar-Dushyant Jodi. On the pretext of reducing the excise rate, VAT on petrol in Haryana was reduced by ₹ 1.12 paise and increased by ₹ 1.78 on diesel in Haryana."
- Surjewala added, "Modi Ji and Khattar-Dushyant Chautala duo are doing fraud every day in the name of Excise-GST."
