Akhilesh Yadav to not contest in the 2022 UP assembly elections
- Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav has today said that he will not contest in the assembly elections to be held in UP next year.
- He also said that the alliance between his party and the Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) has been finalized.
- Letting you know, Akhilesh is a Samajwadi Party MP from Azamgarh and the party's face for the UP Assembly elections.
- Significantly, Akhilesh has not contested any assembly election so far. He contested the Lok Sabha elections from Kannauj and Azamgarh.
- When Akhilesh became the CM of UP, he was elected from the Legislative Council.
