- He has joined the TMC at a meeting of TMC general secretary and Mamata Banerjee's nephew Abhishek Banerjee in Agartala, Tripura.
- Letting you know, Banerjee had resigned from the ministerial post earlier this year and joined the BJP.
- Recently, MLA Ashish Thakur, who resigned from the BJP and shaved his head, also joined the TMC in the presence of Abhishek Banerjee.
