'ED will not follow me as I am a BJP MP'- Sanjay Patil sparks controversy

- Patil has claimed that ED will not follow him as he is a BJP MP. Patil is not the first one to make such remarks.
- His remarks came at a time when the opposition is accusing the Center of targeting its leaders and using investigative agencies to settle political accounts.
- Harshvardhan Patil had also claimed that he was able to sleep peacefully in the BJP as no "interrogation" was taking place.
- Before the Maharashtra Assembly elections in the year 2019, Patil, who was an MLA from the Indapur seat in Pune district, left the Congress and joined the BJP.
