West Bengal- Center files an affidavit against Mamata govt in SC

The Central Govt has filed an affidavit in the Supreme Court accusing the Mamata Banerjee govt of West Bengal of protecting the accused in the railway coal scam case.
In the Supreme Court, the Center said that the suit of the Bengal govt amounts to an abuse of the process of law, so it should be dismissed.
The Center said that investigation by multiple states or a central agency of a crime having a pan-India effect will not harm the federal structure.
In fact, the Supreme Court was hearing the original suit filed against the Center by the West Bengal government.
In this petition, the Mamta govt has alleged that despite the withdrawal of consent in West Bengal, the CBI is violating the federal structure of governance by registering an FIR.
