Today the country is celebrating the birth anniversary of Adikavi Maharishi Valmiki.
On this occasion, a function was organized at Congress headquarters 24 Akbar Road in New Delhi.
Congress leader Rahul Gandhi was also present there. He said that Valmiki Ji had shown the country the way to live.
He said that the message of Maharishi Valmiki was to establish love and brotherhood in society.
"But today the poor and downtrodden sections of the society are being attacked", he further added.
