
'We kept waiting till one o'clock'- SC to UP govt over Lakhimpur Kheri Massacre
- The Supreme Court is hearing a petition seeking a court-monitored inquiry into the October 3 violence in Lakhimpur Kheri.
- The hearing is being conducted by a bench of CJI NV Ramana, Justice Surya Kant and Justice Hima Kohli.
- On behalf of the UP government, Harish Salve said , "We have filed a status report in the sealed cover."
- The CJI expressed displeasure at the UP govt. CJI said, "We have just received your status report. You must file at least 1 day in advance."
- Harish Salve said, "You postpone the hearing of the case till Friday. We kept waiting till one o'clock last night to get some material. A status report was filed at the last minute."
