Owaisi takes a jibe at BJP, said- 'they will make Savarkar the father of the nation'
- After the statement made by Union Defense Minister Rajnath Singh about Savarkar, the political temperature has risen. Asaduddin Owaisi has targeted the BJP.
- Owaisi said, "These people are presenting distorted history. If this continues, they will replace Mahatma Gandhi and make Savarkar the father of the nation, who was accused of murder."
- Apart from Owaisi, Dalit Congress President Nitin Raut also termed Rajnath's statement wrong and said, "Gandhiji had no advice behind Savarkar's apology."
- During the release of the book Veer Savarkar, Rajnath had said that he wrote an apology only at the behest of Gandhi.
- Rajnath said, "A campaign is being run to defame Savarkar that he apologized, he was the greatest soldier and defense expert of the 20th century."
