
Congress delegation to meet President over Lakhimpur violence, Rahul will submit memorandum
- Congress has written a letter to President Ram Nath Kovind seeking an appointment with the seven members led by Rahul Gandhi.
- It is in connection with the violence that erupted after a vehicle was attacked by protesting farmers in Lakhimpur Kheri, UP.
- The letter read that apart from Rahul Gandhi, this delegation will include AK Antony, Mallikarjun Kharge, Ghulam Nabi Azad, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, KC Venugopal and Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury.
- It added, "Despite the strong remarks of the Supreme Court, proper action has not been taken against the Union Minister and his family in the matter."
- Letting you know, last Sunday, eight people, including four farmers, were killed in the violence in the Tikonia area of Lakhimpur Kheri district.
