Union Minister's son Ashish Mishra has been arrested after reports that he has fled to Nepal.
The arrest was made after more than 12 hours of interrogation in connection with the Lakhimpur violence.
Ashish was produced before the duty magistrate at 12.30 pm. SIT asked for 3 days of judicial custody but his lawyers opposed.
In such a situation, the duty magistrate ordered to send Ashish to jail in judicial custody.
Police said that he was giving "evasive answers" and not cooperating with the investigation.
