
Air India officially gone back to Tata Sons, bought it for 18 thousand crores
- The flag carrier of India, Air India has again gone back to Tata Sons after 68 years.
- Tata Sons has bought the airlines for 18 thousand crores. The govt will get Rs 2,700 crore in cash.
- The announcement was made by DIPAM Secretary Tuhin Kanta Pandey.
- He said that Tata's successful bid of Rs 18,000 crore includes taking a loan of Rs 15,300 crore and paying the rest in cash.
- Now, the Tata Sons will hold 100 % stakes in Air India while Air India Express will also have a 50 % stake.
