CBI inquiry into the allegation of rape against Sunil Tiwari, court asked - 'why should it be done?'
- A hearing was held in the High Court on the demand for a CBI inquiry into the allegations of rape against Sunil Tiwari, political advisor to former Jharkhand CM Babulal Marandi.
- High Court judge Sanjay Kumar Dwivedi asked the opposition lawyer regarding the petition, "why a CBI inquiry should be conducted in this matter."
- In fact, Lalima Tiwari, wife of accused Sunil Tiwari, has filed a petition in the High Court seeking a CBI inquiry into the allegations against her husband.
- She has said in her petition that her husband is being implicated. Advocate RS Majumdar said, "Jharkhand Police cannot conduct a fair investigation."
- Agreeing to the argument of the lawyer, the High Court has issued a notice to the Chief Secretary, DGP, Ranchi, asking him to respond.
