Farmer leader furious over govt's directive not to purchase paddy from Haryana, Punjab
- Farmers' organizations have been protesting on the borders of Delhi for more than a year against the Center's farm laws.
- Amid this, the Center has issued instructions not to purchase paddy from Haryana and Punjab until Oct 11, citing rain and humidity behind this.
- Reacting to this, farmer leader Gurnam Singh Chadhuni has warned the Manohar Lal Khattar govt on the ban on the purchase of paddy.
- He has said that if the procurement of paddy does not start from October 1, then they will gherao the houses of the leaders from the next day.
- Chadhuni said, "The piles of crops are lying in Mandis and some are even damaged due to rain. The directive of govt to stop its purchase is cruel."
