- Voting for the Pipili by-election continues today after being postponed twice. Voting started from 7 am and will continue till 6 pm.
- A total of 2,29,998 voters will decide the fate of 10 candidates in Pipili. A total of 38 booths are being set up in the Papilio constituency.
- Out of 38 booths, 201 are sensitive. Of these, 165 booths have webcasting and 12 have videography. There are micro observers at 23 booths.
- Emphasis is being laid on voting peacefully. Over 2,200 police and security personnel are deployed. Pipili seat fell vacant after the death of Pradeep Maharathi.
- The preparations for the by-election were completed last April, but was postponed due to the death of Congress candidate Ajit Mangraj a few days before the vote.
