
UP- Dalit teenagers publicly shamed, paraded with slippers around neck, 13 booked
- In India, more than 160 million people are considered untouchables and the maximum of them belong to the Dalit community.
- A new case has come to the fore from the Basti district of Gaur police station in Uttar Pradesh.
- Teenage friends of the Dalit community were publicly shamed and paraded with slippers garland around their neck with black painted face.
- The duo was then ousted from the village before been wedlock. Basti Police has booked 13 names and scores of unnamed villagers.
- They have been booked under IPC sections 146, 149, 323, 504,506, 355 and juvenile justice section 74 & 75 based on the written complaint of the teenager's mother.
