Tripura CM tells officials - 'we have the power, do not be afraid of contempt of court'
- Tripura CM Bilpab Dev, who is often in discussion about his statements, has once again given a controversial statement, which has created a ruckus.
- On Monday, Biplab had arrived to address the convention of the Civil Service Officers Association, during which he told the officers not to be afraid of anyone.
- Biplab Dev told the officers, "Do not be afraid of the judiciary and do not let contempt of court come in the way of work, contempt of court is considered like a tiger."
- He further added, "I am the tiger here, I have power in my hand, if anyone has to go to jail, I will go first."
- On CM's statement, TMC MP Abhishek Banerjee said, "This is an insult to the country, democracy is being mocked, will the SC take cognizance of it."
