High Court lifts ban on the Char Dham Yatra in Uttarakhand but with some restrictions

  • The High Court has lifted the ban on the Char Dham Yatra in Uttarakhand which was banned due to Coronavirus.
  • In the decision, 1200 devotees or yatris have been allowed in Badrinath Dham, 800 in Kedarnath Dham, 600 in Gangotri and 400 in Yamanotri Dham.
  • The court has asked every passenger to carry a negative report of Covid and a certificate of two vaccines.
  • In its order, the High Court has asked to make adequate police arrangements during the Chardham Yatra to be held in Chamoli, Rudraprayag and Uttarkashi districts.
  • During the hearing, the Advocate General, appearing for the Uttarakhand government, said that the corona is now under control. Therefore, the ban should be lifted from the journey.
