
Govt increases the price of wheat by 40 paise per kg, the minister said - 'farmers will benefit from this'
- The farmers' protest against the Agriculture Act continues. Meanwhile, the central government fixed the minimum support prices for Rabi crops.
- The price of wheat has been increased by 40 paise per kg. Earlier the MSP rate was Rs 1975, now it has become Rs 2015 per kg.
- The price of gram was reduced from Rs 5100 to Rs 5230, that of mustard from Rs 4350 to 5050, that of safflower from 5327 to 5441, and of Barley from Rs 1600 to Rs 1635.
- In the meeting chaired by PM Narendra Modi, it has been approved to increase the price of sugarcane to Rs 290 per quintal, which means an increase of Rs 5 from last year.
- Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar said, "The government has decided in the interest of the farmers, it will benefit the farmers, they will earn more."
