46 percent increase in the cases of women harassment in the country, UP tops the list, Delhi second
- There has been a 46 per cent increase in complaints of crime with women who came to the National Commission for Women. Half of these cases are from UP alone.
- In the first 8 months of 2021, the commission received 19,953 complaints as against 13,618 cases registered during the same time last year.
- In July, 3,248 complaints were registered, the highest since 2015. Commission Chairman Rekha Sharma said, the complaints also increased because the commission organized regular awareness campaigns.
- An all-time-use helpline has also been issued. It always provides support to women, from here they can also register complaints.
- The complaints have also increased due to the awareness campaign of the Women's Commission. Not only did UP top but about 5 times more complaints were reported from UP as compared to the Delhi.
