Khori Gaon case: SC tells Haryana govt - 'do not wait for 8 weeks, give housing to the homeless people soon'
- In the case of vandalism in the Khori village of Faridabad adjoining Delhi, the Supreme Court has asked the Faridabad Municipal Corporation to tell the timeline for the rehabilitation of the displaced people.
- The Supreme Court has asked the Haryana government to provide housing to the deserving people who have been rendered homeless by the sabotage at the earliest.
- The court has suggested the government not to wait for 8 weeks and make provisional allotment of housing to the eligible people as soon as the application is received.
- It has also made it clear that only deserving people will get shelter. The Supreme Court has given the Haryana government a week. The next hearing is on September 13.
- During the hearing, on behalf of the petitioners, Sanjay Parikh said that people are not getting the benefit of the shelter. There is no room in the shelter.
