The Supreme Court will examine the new reservation policy of 27 % seats for OBCs and 10% for EWS in the All India Quota for medical and dental courses.
The Supreme Court on Monday issued a notice to the Center and sought its response. A bench of Justice DY Chandrachud said that it will have to be investigated.
In July, the central govt has implemented 27 percent reservation for OBCs for medical admissions and economically weaker section.
After the announcement of the central government, the new reservation policy has been implemented from this year itself.
With this decision of the Center, every year about 1500 OBC students will get benefit in MBBS and 2500 OBC students in post-graduation and 550 EWS students in MBBS and about 1000 EWS students in post-graduation.
