
SC refuses to hear the petition to open the closed highway due to farmers' agitation on the Singhu border
- The Supreme Court has refused to hear the petition related to the opening of the highway closed due to the farmers' dharna on the Singhu border of the Delhi-Haryana border.
- During the hearing on Monday, the Supreme Court has asked the petitioners to approach the Punjab and Haryana High Court in the matter.
- The Supreme Court said, "This is an important humanitarian issue, but we have to trust the High Court. We have the best constitutional machinery.
- The petitioner should go to the High Court for the right of citizens to protest and the right of citizens to move freely.
- The Court said that if the petitioner is a resident of Sonipat, then he can go to the High Court. Justice DY Chandrachud said that the High Court is fully competent in this matter.
