Coal scam case: Abhishek Banerjee reaches Enforcement Directorate office for questioning

  • West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee's nephew and MP Abhishek Banerjee reached the Enforcement Directorate's office on Monday in a money laundering case.
  • He said, "I have come here because the investigating agency (ED) had issued summons to me. I will cooperate fully with the investigating agency."
  • The ED had last month issued summons to Abhishek Banerjee and his wife for questioning in a money laundering case related to the alleged coal scam in the state.
  • Abhishek (33) represents the Diamond Harbor seat in the Lok Sabha and is also the National General Secretary of the Trinamool Congress (TMC).
  • He was summoned to appear before the investigating officer of the case here on September 6 while his wife Rujira was issued a similar summon under the PMLA asking her to appear on September 1.
