- OpIndia editor Nupur Sharma has got relief from the Supreme Court. SC stayed another FIR lodged in West Bengal against editors of OpIndia.
- A bench of Justice Sanjay Kishan Kaul and Justice MM Sundaresh stayed the investigation on the FIR registered against OpIndia editor Nupur J Sharma and founder Rahul Roshan.
- This FIR was registered on June 10, 2020 against the reports published in OpIndia regarding Telnipara communal riots.
- Earlier on June 26, 2020, the Supreme Court had also stayed three other FIRs.
- This came because both the petitioners Sharma and Roshan had claimed in their petition before the apex court that these FIRs were registered by the Govt of West Bengal.
