Cow is the only animal that takes in and releases oxygen: Allahabad HC rules over cow slaughter case
- The Allahabad High Court, in a judgment on Wednesday, said that scientists believe that the cow is the only animal that takes in and releases oxygen.
- It said that cow's milk is used to prepare curd and ghee. Panchagavya is prepared from its urine and dung which is beneficial in many incurable diseases.
- Justice Shekhar Kumar Yadav made this remark while dismissing the bail plea of petitioner Javed. Javed is accused of stealing and killing plaintiff Khilendra Singh's cow along with his associates.
- The court said in its decision, "According to Hinduism, 33 categories of deities reside in the cow."
- It added, "In the Rigveda, the cow is called Aghanya, in the Yajurveda Gaur Anupameya and in the Atharveda, the house of properties. Lord Krishna got all the knowledge from the cow's feet."
