Controversy over BJP leader Purandeshwari's statement, "If BJP spits, the entire cabinet will be swept away"
- The state's main opposition BJP and the ruling Congress are at loggerheads over a statement of D Purandeshwari, the National General Secretary of the BJP.
- In the Naxal-affected Bastar, Purandeshwari said in the convention of BJP workers that if BJP workers spit, then CM Bhupesh Baghel and his entire cabinet would be washed away.
- After this statement, Baghel retaliated and said that when anyone spits in the sky, it falls on his face only.
- Letting you know, the BJP had organized a Chintan Shivir from Tuesday in Jagdalpur, the headquarters of Bastar district of the southern region of the state.
- On the last day of the three-day Chintan Shivir, party's Chhattisgarh affairs in-charge Purandeshwari addressed the workers of Bastar division.
