Signs of the third wave of Corona: ICMR said – 'a village, tehsil or entire district may be in danger'
- The ICMR has clarified that there are signs of a wave. It is definitely that this time the third wave of corona can be seen not in the whole country, but at the regional level.
- Dr. Samiran Panda, Head of Infectious Diseases, ICMR said, "If there is a spurt in cases of new infections in an area continuously for two weeks and the number of patients in hospitals is increasing, then it is the biggest sign of a new wave."
- At present, a similar situation prevails in 14 districts of Kerala, but nothing can be said about the third wave as the second wave was also delayed here.
- Kerala and Mizoram are the two states where cases are increasing, and there are signs of a new wave. Panda said that the scope of the third wave depends on the behaviour of the people.
- He added, "Festivals have already started in the country and crowds of people help in spreading the infection. If covid vigilance rules are not followed in festivals then we can get many super spreaders."
