- The CM of Assam had said on Sunday, "I would welcome Mamata Banerjee by laying a red carpet as it would benefit the BJP."
- Saugata Roy said, "I don't give importance to what he (Himanta Biswa Sarma) said. He is a defector."
- Roy added, "He has become the CM instead of Sarbananda Sonowal, who is a good person. Sarma joined Congress because Left because Tarun Gogoi was made the CM."
