Case registered against former IPS officer Amitabh Thakur and his wife Nutan
- A case was registered at Gomtinagar police station on Saturday against former IPS officer Amitabh Thakur and his wife Nutan for obstructing government work.
- Police alleged that when the policemen went to arrest Thakur on Friday, he and his wife had obstructed their work and allegedly assaulted them.
- Amitabh Thakur is already in jail. He was arrested by Lucknow's Hazratganj Kotwali police on several serious charges including abetment to suicide of a rape victim and her aide.
- According to Hazratganj Kotwali police, Amitabh Thakur was arrested and his doctor was medically examined at Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Civil Hospital.
- He was then produced in the court of Chief Judicial Magistrate from where he was sent to jail.
