Big relief to Dr. Kafeel from Allahabad HC, FIR registered for provocative speech in CAA protest cancelled
- The Allahabad High Court has given a big relief to Dr. Kafeel Khan, suspended after the oxygen tragedy at BRD Medical College, Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh.
- The High Court has quashed the FIR registered against Kafeel for making provocative speeches during a protest against CAA-NRC at AMU in 2019.
- The single bench of Justice Gautam Chaudhary of Allahabad High Court has also stayed criminal proceedings against him.
- Justice Gautam Chaudhary gave this order after hearing the arguments of Senior Advocate Dilip Kumar and Additional Advocate General of the State Government Manish Goel in the matter.
- It is worth noting that based on this case, the Yogi government had imposed NSA against Dr. Kafeel Khan, after which he was arrested.
