Assam-Meghalaya dispute: Scuffle broke out between people of both the states, policemen injured
- Meghalaya Police officers were injured while controlling a scuffle that broke out along the inter-state border between groups of people from Meghalaya and Assam.
- Ri-Bhoi district's SP N Lamare said on Wednesday, "Ri-Bhoi district's deputy superintendent of police rank officer was injured while trying to control the tense situation along the border."
- According to the police, the incident took place at Umlapar in West Karbi Anglong district of Assam.
- A group of around 250-300 people from the Ri-Bhoi district of Meghalaya went to meet two men who were misbehaved by Assam policemen on Monday night.
- Due to this, the protesters damaged a bunker during the protest on the border. Meanwhile, there was a dispute with the people of Assam and Meghalaya.
