Meghalaya Police officers were injured while controlling a scuffle that broke out along the inter-state border between groups of people from Meghalaya and Assam.
Ri-Bhoi district's SP N Lamare said on Wednesday, "Ri-Bhoi district's deputy superintendent of police rank officer was injured while trying to control the tense situation along the border."
According to the police, the incident took place at Umlapar in West Karbi Anglong district of Assam.
A group of around 250-300 people from the Ri-Bhoi district of Meghalaya went to meet two men who were misbehaved by Assam policemen on Monday night.
Due to this, the protesters damaged a bunker during the protest on the border. Meanwhile, there was a dispute with the people of Assam and Meghalaya.
