Union Minister Narayan Rane was arrested from Raigad on Tuesday afternoon. He was later granted bail by the Raigad district court on a personal bond of Rs 15,000.
Narayan Rane is accused of making objectionable remarks (slapping CM Uddhav) on Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray.
In the case of Rane, Maharashtra Police Commissioner Deepak Pandey has said that Rane had given a written assurance that he would not make such a statement again.
He told that the minister had said in his written explanation that he would not do any such act again.
The police commissioner said, "Our team had reached Ratnagiri yesterday but Narayan Rane had given a written assurance, so he was not arrested.
