When all political parties agree, then we will also accept caste-based census: Mamata Banerjee
- West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee said that she will accept the nationwide caste-based census if all political parties reach a consensus.
- Banerjee's statement came when Bihar CM Nitish Kumar was in New Delhi to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi to push for a caste-based census.
- Banerjee said, "If all political parties and states reach a consensus, then I will not fight. Let the political parties, CMs and the central govt reach a consensus.
- She refused to comment further on the issue, saying sentiments differ from state to state.
- Bihar CM said that data of different castes will help in formulating development plans effectively.
