Shock to BJP before Punjab elections! Former MLA left the party, said - 'I am with the agitating farmers'
- The Modi government is not ready to compromise with the farmers to end the farmers' agitation that has been going on for months.
- Meanwhile, Sukhpal Singh Nannu, a two-time BJP MLA from Firozpur in Punjab, has quit the party in favour of the agitating farmers.
- Sukhpal quit the party on Thursday condemning the deaths of farmers protesting against the Centre's agricultural laws.
- Even before this, he had warned that he would resign from the membership of the party if the farmers' issue was not resolved soon.
- He said that some farmers lost their lives in the agitation, due to which his supporters had asked him to take some concrete steps before the 2022 assembly elections.
