The Modi government is not ready to compromise with the farmers to end the farmers' agitation that has been going on for months.
Meanwhile, Sukhpal Singh Nannu, a two-time BJP MLA from Firozpur in Punjab, has quit the party in favour of the agitating farmers.
Sukhpal quit the party on Thursday condemning the deaths of farmers protesting against the Centre's agricultural laws.
Even before this, he had warned that he would resign from the membership of the party if the farmers' issue was not resolved soon.
He said that some farmers lost their lives in the agitation, due to which his supporters had asked him to take some concrete steps before the 2022 assembly elections.
