'Not much has changed in 20 years': Devi Sharan, the pilot of the plane hijacked in 1999, said about the Taliban
- As soon as the Taliban took control of Afghanistan, Devi Sharan was reminded of the past.
- Devi Sharan was the captain of Air India flight IC 814 that was hijacked in December 1999 and taken to Taliban-ruled Kandahar.
- He said that there has been no change in the scenes in Afghanistan (as seen on TV).
- Sharan said, "I don't think there has been any difference in 20 years. The only difference now is that they seem a little educated now."
- He further added, "The people who surrounded our plane were not polished. The kind of treatment we faced 20 years ago, it's hard to believe what the future holds."
