AFGHANISTAN CRISIS: Taliban bares all imports and exports with India after entering Kabul

  • The Taliban on Sunday barred all imports and exports with India after entering Kabul and capturing Afghanistan.
  • FIEO Director General Dr. Ajay Sahai said that at present the Taliban have stopped the movement of cargo through Pakistan's transit routes, which has stopped imports from the country.
  • He said, "We are keeping a close watch on the developments in Afghanistan. Imports from there are through Pakistan's transit route."
  • Letting you know, India has a long standing relationship with Afghanistan, especially in trade and investment.
  • Sahay said, "We are one of the biggest partners of Afghanistan and our exports to Afghanistan are about $835 million for 2021. We have imported goods worth about $510 million."
