Taliban giving assurance of peace and security, but Afghan Sikh-Hindus do not trust

  • After the overthrow of power by the Taliban in Afghanistan, the people of the Sikh community living there for years are worried.
  • Panic is spreading among the people. About 280 Sikhs and 30-40 Hindus residing there are taking shelter in Gurdwara Dashmesh Father Shri Guru Gobind Singh Ji Singh Sabha Karte Parwan.
  • Gurnam Singh, the president of the gurdwara, said that the Taliban assured him of peace and security and said that everyone can live in peace.
  • A spokesperson of the B community said that if there is a chance to go to India, America or any other country, they will leave immediately.
  • A member of the Sikh community told that even during the rule of Ashraf Ghani, they were troubled and now there may be more problems under the Taliban.
